I'M GOING TO A PORTER ROBINSON CONCERT!!

The smile :D tour is coming to Chicago, and i got a super lucky night off of work... literally couldn't be more excited for any type of concert honestly for my first ever concert... ericdoa is also the feat. artist of the tour and i like a lot of their music as well. Porter's music has been a big part of my life ever since i was like 14? so this is sorta huge... for my first concert to be a porter Robison concert is literally so awesome.

Some of my favorite porter music comes out of the Worlds album (of course), as I didn't really listen to porter during his early era. I also think the stuff he did as Virtual Self was all really really good. cyber-infused dnb with ethereal vocal chops, not to say that it hadn't been done before but i do think porter at this point in his career knew how to make 'concertable/clubbable' if that makes sense. ANGEL VOICES, the single that released a year after the title artist album was very apparently made to be a concert/club headliner. In 2021 nurture dropped and it was the last of what i'd call the 'worlds' era porter, but nurture was also very much it's own thing. It matched that era of my life almost perfectly, I was in a slump in 2020 just dealing with 2020 stuff and porter dropped the single for get your wish and I was absolutely ecstatic as it was the first thing (i think) that porter had done since shelter. (go watch the MV for shelter its so good...) BUT anyway nurture was a paramount album to my experiences in life in 2020, and going into 2021. Porter then started teasing the Smile :D album in 2023 late into the year, and I wasn't sure about the song!! I believe it was Cheerleader that was released as a single first before the rest. Vocals headlined the entire track, and that was the forefront of the first song off of the album, what porter was wanting to do with this ablum became pretty apparent. It grew on me over time, and at this point, now, I can't help but belt out "ITS NOT FAIIIIIIIIIIiiiiR" whenever the chorus starts. awesome track. after that was Knock Yourself Out XD which had a really cool MV (cheerleader did too)... good song too, very catchy, much more pop influence with super catchy hooks and chorus'. Third to release was Russian Roulette which was a very emotional track... I literally can't wait until the latter half of that song in concert, I think it'll probably be the outro track before the encores. Then i think kitsune maison dropped a bit before the rest of the album did but i didn't really listen to this one too much before the rest of the album came out. I'm SO EXCITED!!!
